Taken from a broad, flat area somewhere near 7,800 feet along the eastern summit ridge of Apikuni Mountain. We reached this point by slogging up loose class II terrain from the hanging valley above Apikuni Falls. On the extreme left, fresh snow covers the broad saddle between Piegan Mountain and Pollock Mountain. The jagged Garden Wall continues to the right, with Bishop's Cap being the highest pinnacle along the wall between Pollock and massive, blocky Mount Gould. The small rounded dome of Altyn Peak is visible in the center of the photo, with the sharp summit of Mount Grinnell protruding slightly behind and to the right. Following the ridgeline to the right from Mount Grinnell, the Continental Divide leads directly up to the summit of Swiftcurrent Mountain. The peak on the extreme right is actually a false eastern summit of Mount Henkel, with the formidable upper reaches of Mount Wilbur visible behind and to the left. June 6, 2010
