Voologata Cupola - a view from Heavenly Meadows

Yes, the Cupola is the only snowwhite summit one can glimpse from the sheltered little valley of Rayskaya Polyana (Heavenly Meadows), tucked behind the left-bank morraine of Karaugom Glacier. We needed this sunshine half-day break real strong, because the previous night, on the high ridge of the Cupola, the pre-dawn gale tore our tent to shreds. Really, to palm-width strips of weathered nylon. So we had a lot of needle stitching to do in the shade of Havenly Meadows pines. September 1995
