Wall Lizard and Wallpepper Sedum acre

Sedum acre, the Goldmoss Stonecrop, Goldmoss Sedum, Biting Stonecrop or Wallpepper, is a perennial plant native to Europe, but also naturalised in North America. This plant grows as a creeping ground cover, often in dry sandy soil, but also in the cracks of masonry. It grows well in poor soils, sand, rock gardens, and rich dirt; and in a variety of light conditions. It does not thrive in dense shade with limited water. The leaves are simple, smooth-margined, and succulent. The flowers are yellow, Spring-blooming, in sprays held above the foliage. It spreads when allowed to do so, but is easily removed as it has shallow roots. from wikipedia ( dutch name: muurpeper)

Re: Nice!

Not the specific name of the plant, but of the type of plant ... Succulents are plants that have fleshy tissue that conserve moisture...I should know the name of the plant in your picture, because I've seen them growing around here, in people's garden, but I just don't remember it...

Fatplants?

That is funny. I will remember that term, so I can use it in the future.

The Navajo call cactus 'mean ones.'

Re: Nice!

They are a species of Sedum -- hard to say what sort since there are thousands. Also called "Stonecrop" in barbarian, er... English

Nice!

I like the colors in this photo. The red plant really stands out and a lizard makes a nice addition to it. It would be a good pic for Mountain Flora album also ;)

Re: Nice!

Succulents are a large family of plants. Cacti belong to this family, but there are many other succulents that are not cacti.
They do have flowers, but I don't think the one in your picture is in bloom.
