"Got tight last night on absinthe and did knife tricks. Great success shooting the knife into the piano. The woodworms are so bad and eat hell out of all furniture that you can always claim the woodworms did it."

Route Climbed: Hugh Norris Trail Date Climbed: April 2, 2005A great hike along the ridge, with flowers already blooming everywhere. Took relatives from Pennsylvania along to see the lush desert.

Route Climbed: King Canyon Trail Date Climbed: March 25, 2005What a delight this peak was in spring of 2005! Tucson received a great deal of precipitation in the winter months, and the desert was alive, not just with wonderful wildflowers, but also a lot of green grasses. We encountered a rattlesnake right next to the trail along the way, so keep your eyes peeled if you go. Great views of the surrounding ranges, and the trail was excellent the whole way. I'd say it's a better way to experience the desert than the Sonoran Desert Museum, which is located across the street from the trailhead we used. A trip report is available here.
