watching the void

Sitting on the edge of the huge crevasse that divides Glacier du Geant and Glacier du Mont Frety. The climber looked down for a few minutes, then actually jumped in during a (supposedly frightening!) rescue training operation. He took a fall of at least 7/8 meters before the rescue team managed to stop him, with several members of the team falling to the ground (er... glacier!) in the attemp to hold the rope. Seduto sul bordo dell'immenso crepaccio che divide il Ghiacciaio del Gigante dal ghiacciaio del Mont Frety. Dopo aver guardato per alcuni minuti, l'alpinista si gettò effettivamente nel crepaccio durante una operazione di addestramento al salvataggio. La caduta fu di almeno 7/8 metri prima che la squadra di salvataggio riuscisse a fermarlo, con diversi membri della squadra di salvataggio finiti a terra (ehm... sulla neve) nel tentativo di bloccare la caduta.
