We're not alone on the Stüdlgrat

We're not alone on the Stüdlgrat

... nor had I expected that we would be. It's a beautiful route to begin with, and it leads to the highest mountain of Austria. Fortunately, as it was already late in the season, it didn't feel crowded, but there were at least four other groups climbing it that day. Weather these two made it all the way, I don't know. For quite a while, they were not far behind us, but somewhere in the upper part, we couldn't see them anymore. We spent perhaps half an hour on the summit, and heard some shouting further down, but they never came up. Maybe they came up later, maybe they returned - which, if you are already within shouting distance of the summit, is probably harder than continuing to the summit and descending the normal way! 1 September 2011.
