Coronary RidgeI saw the sign for Coronary Ridge on the trail and hadn't seen that before. Where is the trailhead for this, if you don't mind me asking? Thanks.

Re: Coronary RidgeIt is easiest accessed through the main Kings Mountain trailhead. A more detailed description is in the Kings Mountain Junior route, which is basically an alternate ridge to get up Kings.

Re: Coronary RidgeThanks! I'll have to try that next time I do this one. Always good to know a new twist on an old favorite.

Re: Coronary RidgeThe signs are gone. Maybe the powers that be thought it was a dangerous trail (which it can be).

Re: Coronary RidgeI took this trail this past winter, and there were three signs for 'Coronary Ridge', one at the base of the ridge, one along it, and one at the junction with the Kings Mountain trail. I took it yesterday, and there was no sign at the base of the ridge, a 'Coronary Ridge' sign along the ridge, and a 'Kings mountain Jr.' sign at the junction with the main Kings Mountain trail. An identity crisis indeed.

Re: Coronary RidgeJust did this one a couple weeks ago via the old logging road. There are so many timber company taped trees all over, couldn't tell what was trail or timberland boundary. Did not see any signs except the one where it meets up with the main trail about a mile from the top. With all the timber signs and tape, I wonder if this route will end up being clear cut or something. Would be a bummer. Hard to find the "talus" field where the logging road ends but you are spot on with the fact there is a trail there in the overgrown brush and shortly after that it meets up with the Wilson River Trail. Was interesting to hit this one on a different trail for once, always enjoy a new take on things.
