The black line is the North Cascades Highway; the purple the spur road to the PCT North trailhead. The red line is the PCT trail and the route up the northern gully we took to the West Rib start. The blue is how you would access the main gully to go any west face route as well as the North Ridge, West side route described in Beckey.
The blue circle is where the trail crosses Porcupine Creek on the footbridge (GPS waypoint).
