An easy but long aproach to the summit of Gibbs. I was only going up on this route, planning to travers to Mt. Dana. When I made it to the saddle between the two mountains, I noticed a mighty thunder storm approaching from the South. I ended up running at full speed down into the valley between the two mountains, toward the Mono Pass trail. I took that trail back to the street.

West Slope
Followed the Mono Pass Trail for less than 1 mile then headed East up through the forest and on to the summit. Once I left the trail, I only came across two hikers. One headed up and the other headed down.
