The western side of Ute Mountain. Hike UP the center ravine (there's an old road) then scramble up the left slope to the shoulder. Follow that to the summit. There is a VERY primitive social trail heading to the summit. October, 2013

Nice

This is the kind of activity I need to focus on for a bit, some nice obscure peakbagging. Definitely paying this place a visit the next time I'm down that way.

Granted, this is just a bushwhack, it was an enjoyable outing. It's amazing how this thing just rises out of the high desert. Bomber views.
Though in all fairness, I'd rather be doing the climbs that you guys are doing lately. Perhaps not as difficult but something challenging none-the-less. Just can't find anyone.
Cottontail was a killer achievement!!
