What kind of rock???

What kind of rock???

I'm really interested to find out what kind of rock this is in southern Nevada, inside Lovell Wash and just to the southwest of Anniversary Narrows. Could it be mudstone??? I didn't find fossils, but I did find several large "gypsum crystals" growing in this area. There's also an old borax mine in this area, at approximately 1,600' in elevation in the Mojave Desert. It's located due south of Muddy Peak, so I thought it might be mudstone. The first one to answer correctly will receive several pats on the back, a free cup of "cyber-coffee" and a resounding THANK YOU from lcarreau!!! March 31, 2008

Re: Hello!

Are you familiar with American movies???
Here's a famous quote from the movie No Country For Old Men:

"You never know what worse luck your bad luck
has saved you from."
