While My Drill Gently Weeps
With Will from AZ. Bad weather day or we would have climbed at least three if not all four of the established routes on Hootgoat. It was cold and windy and While My Drill Gently Weeps was the easiest one to get to. Well bolted, I did not need any supplemental gear. The triple dikes on the 2nd pitch were the highlight. The 3rd pitch had the only move that would give me pause if soloing. Felt exposed and full on for the grade off the deck (large ledge) until I gained the finger crack. The summit was cool and the rap modern (2022) and quick back to our packs at the notch. This bolting and style are essentially the same as for Headline Dome, which is not far away to the southeast.
