It was 24 miles. I'm not sure on the elevation gain yet. Could be 12 or 13,000 but that's just a guess. The numbers alone don't seem too impressive (I've done a lot more miles and gain) but a lot of the terrain is a bit rugged.
Finding your way down by keychain-light was somehow appropriate. Maybe I'll run into you in some obscure corner of the Sierra again during this year's Challenge.
When I venture up to the awesome Sierra's, the last thing I want to rush through it. I don't see the point. When one walks at such a pace they don't even have the time to look up from the ground.
I'm glad you're injury healed up, Rick, but I would never travel through such awesome territory without having half a minute to stop and enjoy where I am.
I agree totally. I've already done all these peaks a number of times already at a much more casual pace. Definitely much more enjoyable that way. Sometimes you feel like testing yourself however and for me this was one of those times.
You're one of kind Rick. I hope next time you get 15.
