Wilcox's Penstemon (Penstemon wilcoxii)

Wilcox's penstemon is found in central and north Idaho, northeast Oregon and northwest Montana. It is a variable species and in parts of its range, its characters can merge with those of Alberta penstemon, and others making identification sometimes difficult. It generally occurs in open forests in the foothills to mid-elevations in the mountains. Photo from Lenore, Idaho. May 1995
