Cool Picture

Pretty neat picture. I hadn't heard of Sunshine Buttress though. I love these winter pictures. Looks like a lot of fun up there! :)

Re: Cool Picture

Thanks for your comment. Sunshine Buttress is what I've told the name is of the West facing rock wall that you see when standing on the Old Rag summit and look south towards Birds Nest. There is a huge slab under it and gullies on either side. We came up the far side gully.

Btw, I've read our report and view your photos from the PineMnt area in Grayson Highlands. One of my favorite hiking locations. We have an annual event down there for the last 24 years or so every Aug. with friend up on Wilburn Ridge.

Nice Shot

Looking at it, really makes me want to do a winter hike up Old Rag. Very beautiful.

Re: Nice Shot

Thanks! Anytime up there is nice. I went this past Sunday with my family. My two daughter; 5 and 9; hiked up in fine style and then the older cleaned my lead on Fern Crack (I skipped the crux) and the younger climbed it on top rope! Very proud dad here :)
