Woolly Burdock (Arctium tomentosum ) is common in lower sections of all Polish mountain ranges. It is a biennial thistle that belongs to the family Asteraceae. Its leaves are rhubarb-like. Flowers are purple-red, 2.5 cm diameter and appear as globes covered in a cottony web.
Arctium tomentosum blooms in July and August. The flowers are rich in pollen and are visited by many insects.
