Worm Flows
Got an early start and hit the summit just before 7am. Snow from 5100’ to the summit, crampons were handy. Wintry conditions meant no views, just clouds. Guess I’ll have to come back on a nicer day.

Great way to start the year
Bluebird conditions and nice snow until the last couple hundred meters of ice. Ice axe and crampons definitely warranted. Some nice glissading on the way down. All in, a great way to start the year.

Lucky Weather
The weather this winter has been absolutely crazy. Snow and rain and more snow. I just happened to pick the most perfect weekend to climb. Not a cloud in site, blue skies for days. Perfect snow going up, slushy glissade going down.Such a good day!

We got a break in crap weather.
We had a great day with decent weather, just a little wind and chill on the summit. Doesnt' seem like most people go to the true summit in winter but we did, and It's also where we ended up getting the best crater views once the fog/clouds cleared. Glissade was perfect.

Whiteout Blizzard Climb
We started the climb on a nasty, rainy morning. Once we got to the tree line the rain turned to sleet with some sun breaks. We were hopeful for a clearing at the summit so we pushed on with the quickness. At 6000ft we noticed all the other climbers were turning around, we talked to a few who said it was too nasty up there, We kept going. Then the wind and blowing snow started, i could hardly see my feet, our footprints were gone almost as soon as we stepped out of them. We summited in this and quickly ate soom food and drank some red bulls and then bounced out. With no tracks to follow and zero visability I had to rely on my mountain man instincts to guide us back down. Once we broke out of the clouds we glissaded the rest of the way to the tree line. 6hrs up, 3hrs down, no views :( great climb though.

Snow from trailhead to summit. Awesome experience looking down into the crater. Camped at about 4,000' on a ridge along swift creek just above treeline. 4:30am start and summit around 8am. First hike of the year... Nice Place...
Mt. St. Helens was my first climb and it was great. Lots of people on the route, and all were very nice and encouraging.

Nice Hike
Very nice day hike. Took 5.5 hrs to the rim from Marble Mtn Sno Park. We took snowshoes and crampons but didn't need either. Glissaded intermittently from the rim to the tree line. The descent was rapid, about 3 hrs. It was nice in the snow and overcast day. Could be work in the sun.
Great climbing day, though it was really windy at the top, which made the traverse to the true summit a little more work than expected. Nevertheless, it was a fantastic day overall.
Fun straight forward route. Ascended on Skis the whole way. Wide open fun skiing the whole way down. Climbed with my friend Clint McMahill during our final year of med school.

Solo
Temperatures started mild and then turned very warm by noon. Snow was hard frozen, with hard ice the last 1300 feet. The snow turned a little soft by noon. Took 6.45 hours round trip.

Bluebird day
Felt more like early summer...wish I would have packed shorts. Up in 3.5 hours, down in 2. Fantastic day on the mountain. Went solo, but there were at least 80 others up there.
But I have also done this route in summer to, well, avoid certain legal aspects of this climb. there are some killer ski lines on this route that make it worth wile the long approach.

It was too bad there were so many clouds, but maybe they added something to the photos.
