Wynn Mountain from Apikuni Basin

An old trail leads around Apikuni Falls to the dry, windswept Apikuni Creek Basin. From this basin, one can climb an easy break in cliffs to access beautiful Natahki Lake. From there, class II routes to Altyn Peak and Apikuni Mountain can be easily ascended. Wynn Mountain is visible far off to the south. Sherburne Reservoir's murky spring waters are just visible beneath the lush forest at the foot of Wynn's crumbled north face. June 03, 2010
