Isolation Lists

Cool. You should make an "Isolation Lists" master page onto which you would attach all of these list pages. Sort of like this Prominence Lists master page (like this). I assume you're going to make Washington's too (a list I completed around 2008 I think).

I keep waiting for county greatest isolation lists to become the next cool hiking thing! County Highpoints are sooo last decade.

Re: Isolation Lists

I've actually been toying with the idea myself, and I agree it is a great idea. I would make a Washington isolation peaks page, but that one actually already has an SP page. I can't remember who made it, but it is an excellent page and you should check it out. And your county isolation lists is a great idea; I hadn't even thought of that before. Thanks!

Re: Isolation Lists

Oh right. Craig's page.

To find the most isolated point in a county is not a simple task unless you use the John Kirk method of measuring the distance to the nearest summit that exceeds his minimum prominence criteria (300 ft).

Re: Isolation Lists

I see. I may not end up making any county isolation peaks pages, simply because of how complicated and difficult it is to research that. I can make it a work in progress, perhaps. If I do, I'll have it up as soon as I can.

CA?

Will you be making a list page for CA as well? Any other states on the radar?

Re: CA?

Well, WA's already been done, and I've got pages for CO, UT, OR, and ID. I might do CA, MT, NV, and NM at some point, and maybe a page for the Northeast and Southeast, but I haven't so far because of the immense size of those lists.
