Yellow Marsh Marigolds

Yellow Marsh Marigolds

Yellow Marsh Marigolds (Caltha palustris – Polish – Kaczeniec or Kaczyniec) are also known as Kingcups and belong to the Ranunculaceae Family. They can be found in all mountains of Central Europe. They like wet woods, damp meadows and grow near streams and creeks. They are perennials that look like very small bushes with either rounded or kidney-shaped leaves. Vibrant yellow flowers appear from March to May. All raw parts of Caltha palustris are poisonous. The Low Beskid – Slope of Mount Graniczna – Rymanow Zdroj – April 24, 2009

Re: Polish spring

Thank you for the comment. I also enjoy your pictures. Because of my age I can't climb the mountains you conquer anymore. Pozdrawiam, Henryk.

Re: Polish spring

Yesterday I took a spring car trip across our Pogorze near Dynow and Brzozow with visit to Rymanow Zdroj after many years, there are so many stunning beautiul places so close to our place of living, I always discover something new and the roads now, at last, even in some forgotten corners of that green highlands are in pretty good state!
