Young Buck by the Waves

Young Buck by the Waves

As I was walking along the Olympic Peninsula, I was lucky enough to spot and approach a young buck. He allowed me to get within 5 feet of him with little worry.

That was lucky !

Some people might see this buck as
a statue, but I know for a fact
there's deer in that area. Was it
getting a drink of water???

No, I think he was looking for food. He was eating some of the beach plants until he decided to go back to his bedding area a few yards into the woods.

Yeah, I was hoping nobody would notice that... I didn't have a cropping program when I posted this.

Actually, he was a boogie boarder. The waves at the Olympic Peninsula were only about 2 feet high, so mostly he was just paddling around.

Re: A deer!

Thanks for the comment! He lived right on the edge of the forest, only a little bit away from the beach, and came out to eat.
