Myosotis alpestrisI thnik this plant is Myosotis alpestris. The flowers are similar to Eritrichium nanum but the foliage and habitat are quite different. Eritrichium usually grows in rock crevices.

Re: Myosotis alpestrisMyosotis alpestris does grow in the Rocky Mountains. There are a number of other alpine plants that are circumpolar. One of the most famous, and my favourite, is Saxifraga oppositifolia. However, the North American population of this plant is not as spectacular as the plant found in the Alps.
Where did I get all my knowledge from? I only have a little and am learning all the time. There is so much to know about alpine plants. I was a keen rock climber 30 years ago and am now a keen rock gardener. We plan our mountain walking trips specifically to look for plants so we are focusing on that aspect of the mountains all day when we are out hiking.
