11/15/04: The approach to the Crystal-Pacific saddle can be rough in winter conditions, with snow covered talus. You also have to be wary of avalanche conditions on Pacific Peak's northwest face (right). Ahead, Crystal Peak and its false summit are visible in the sunlight.
