14,000 Foot Ice Dome on the West Rib, Mount McKinley | [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
Sierra Ledge Rat enjoying the midnight sun on the 14,000-foot ice dome of the West Rib of Mount McKinley, May 1979 B.G. (Before Gortex). Yes, that's all wool and nylon. Comments[ Post a Comment ] | runawayreignbow | Yeeeeah! | |
Voted 10/10 | Before Gortex. I always tell climbers who talk about ticking off .12s ....um, hardcore is the climbing and mountaineering of yesteryears. Those earlier generations did not have the hi-tech gear we have...was just reading how the FA's on a route here in Red Rock only had hexes and stoppers. Please. We don't suffer enough. Most of the new kids are babies (not all!). | | Posted Aug 17, 2012 3:07 am |
