14 May 2005. Wes Go prefers to climb directly over the final crux on Kelso Ridge - the 4th-class white block. The quickest bypass of this block in these conditions is via the top of Dead Dog Couloir, on the left of the picture. When the snow melts the top of Dead Dog is very loose and unpleasant and bypassing on climber's right is generally a preferred strategy.

This block is not to be taken lightly - one member of a group climbing this route at the end of April was fortunate to only be injured when he fell a couple hundred feet from here!
