250° Panorama over the heart of Liechtenstein

Although you can argue whether this really is the heart of the small country, it certainly covers a substantial part of it. I'm standing close to the eastern border, near Bergstation Sareis. On the left, the first notable mountain is the Augstenberg, which is on eastern border with Austria. Just right of center, where the ridge is lower, the distant mountains of Switzerland are visible in the northwest. Although "distant" might be an exaggeration: Liechtenstein's western border is just 8 km away! That border is the river Rhine. It would easily be big enough to see, if the ridge wasn't blocking the view. 23 June 2012.
