A rocky knob on Big Paypudyna's crest, Arctic Ural

Of the two sister Paypudyna Ranges in the West-Central part of Artic Ural mountains, the "Big" range is actually the lower and less rugged. As it happens, it got its name from the larger of the two forks of Paypudyna River. The entire length of the crest turned out to be a natural terrain for a ski traverse. November 1987
