A " sandwich " erosion, at the Kohlberg ...

This picture is showing you another typical erosion structure, that you can find in the Northern Vosges area ... This form of erosion is named as " sandwich structure " . Explication : the sandstone is forming an original erosion configuration, like superposed sheets of paper ... The sandstone is here very fragile and erodable, this reason is so explaining the fact, of the borning of this very special erosion configuration ... The Kohlberg is very rich, in the domain of erosions and natural sculptures : you can find here, honeycombs and cathedrals structures, overhangs, sandwichs formations, and still, too much more !
