A seemingly impenetrable wall of mountains

These are the mountains northwest of the Schutzhaus Hochgang (1839m), on the south side of the Texel group, early in the morning. The highest peak on this ridge is Tschigat (2998m), on the far left. The peaks on the far right are much closer, and are about 2500 m. Just outside this view on the right lies the Hochgangscharte, a high pass. A difficult hiking trail leads up to it from here. On the other side it's much easier. 1 August 2012.
