A very windy day on Wheeler Peak, Nevada
With virtually every summit log you read of Wheeler Peak, there are two common threads. First, is that many deer were seen on the mountain. Secondly, is that the wind was a very pervasive element during the day. My day on Wheeler Peak was no exception. Although there is no frame of reference in the picture to indicate the extent of the wind, the look on Aaron's face says it all. I'm guessing that the wind was blowing steadily at 60-70 km/h as we neared the summit, with gusts that easily had to be 100 km/h.
