Accidental meeting

Roxanne Everett and I near the trailhead (Zig Zag pass) for Buck Peak. The Pacific Crest trail (15 miles roundtrip) was the route we had chosen to get to the summit of Buck Peak and she had just parked her vehicle near us as we were getting out of ours. As people do, I said hi to her and asked her where she was headed. When she said "Buck Peak", I knew she had to be a county highpointer and was blown away when I discovered that we knew each other from the county highpointer website. No one hiked to Buck Peak in 2003 unless they were county highpointers. We had a fun hike together to the summit and talked all the way, much to the amazement of my son in law and his brother. Later Roxanne and I along with others hiked together to several more county highpoints in nearby Oregon counties. 7-19-03
