| shanahan96 | wet and sunny adams ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 28, 2007 | |
| 2/1/13- long, tiring day(13 mi/5800' vert) solo. had to start breaking trail below the headwall, and it never stopped all the way to the summit. the slabs above 13,100' added an extra challenge, and made things interesting at the end. the mountain lion afterwards added some spice to the outing. 7/28/07- hiked through the wet willows with mike before climbing a drier adams and montana mujeres. the often-rumored about summit block of adams was a fun little capper to an otherwise non-descprit mountain. mujeres was a nice, short trip afterwards to gain another perspective of adams right after climbing it. fun day! jamie | ||

| Climbed Adams and "Montana Mujeres" with shanahan96 from Willow Lake. Rained off an on all morning, but stayed light and scattered enough to get both peaks. | ||

| shknbke | via south ridge/traverse from Pt 13541 ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 7, 2007 | |
| Did Adams via the south ridge and a traverse from Pt 13541, 13517 (soft ranked), and 13580. There is some tedious routefinding on this ridge between 13517 & 13580 as I had to drop off the ridge a few hundred feet. Will be back to get the other 2 13ers from the Crestone Lake basin. | ||

| Great Day. 9 hour 35 min RT from Horn Creek TH including 1 hr on the summit. Traversed to Point 13,325 (unranked) for a much easier descent line. | ||

| Up the west ridge and down the northwest ridge. The south Crestone drainage is stunning. Adams is a real mountain located in the best area of the Sangres. Very much worth the 5,000-ft gain. | ||

| A great, long day up the Willow Creek drainage to 13,580, up the south ridge to Mount Adams and then over to 13,546 which ended up being my favorite summit of the day. All great peaks and not a soul around. Descent down South Crestone Lake drainage was stunning and equally solitude filled. | ||

| Beautiful winter day, great mountain, awesome views. Kicked my butt. 16 hours round trip, and became dehydrated and weak because didn't eat/drink enough. Thanks to jclements and climbhighnow for desire to make top, even late in day (330pm). Snow light but some postholing in trees below Willow Lake. | ||

| Don't see many winter summits logged here, and now I know why. 1st (technically) winter ascent! No register on summit. | ||

| Backpacked to a camp at the lake, then continued on to the summit of Adams with bad weather threatening. The scrambling on the ridge itself was fun and easy, and didn't see anyone the entire time! | ||

| Nice Mountain. If you stay on the ridge you will encounter some minor Crestone Conglomerate tiptoeing. My dog made it to just below the blocky summit cap. | ||

| This was my second ascent of this wonderful peak. Picture book alpine meadows, steep but climbable grassy slopes, and a large herd of bighorn sheep that literally thundered past us made this an even more unforgetable day than the day prior on Challenger and Kit Carson. Avoid the east side, but climb up the summit cap from the relatively easy ridge from the south. The summit register was empty- no matter. Do this peak before it is "discovered". It is fortunate that it is not a 14er because if it was it would be overused. The view of the Sangres from the top is what mountains are made of. Obviously, I love this peak. | ||
