The very name suggests that these are tough flowers! In avalanche heaven, Olympic National Park, these beauties are amongst the first flowers to appear in the high country. Even when snow dominates the high country into August, these flowers thrive! Usually blooming from June through August in the high country, these beautiful white and yellow beauties fill the mountain meadows with their joyful glory. Having spent many an hour in the high meadows of Olympic and Rainier National Parks up close and personal with my favorite flower, I've come to admire their almost human characteristics of resiliance and joy. This flower is one of my favorites. It is great to see that you made an album for them. We need to take another trip into the Olympics. I miss those mountains.
