Overview

A few pics of a recent trip to Starved Rock State Park in central Illinois. Quite a remarkable place, considering the location amidst the prairies. The fall colors didn't hurt a bit either...

I was born and raised in central Illinois but somehow, I never made it to Starved Rock. Thanks for sharing.

No prob' glad you enjoyed it. If you're ever back I'd definately visit. It's so out of place for central Illinois, I think that's what makes it even more interesting.

Great photography as usual! I was at Starved Rock one time, but unfortunately for a business meeting at the lodge, so I didn't get to go out onto the trails. Would make for a good weekend trip. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, appreciate the vote/comment. You could defiantely spend a couple days in the area as the park takes up a surprisingly large chunk of real estate along the Illinois. I'm looking forward to going back and exploring the rest of the canyons.

I grew up in Peoria and spent a bit of time in this park. Great for hiking around especially in the Fall. Not a bad brunch at the lodge too!
Thanks for posting!
