nice shotOne time I was looking at the same view from the Angel Wing and there were about 100 Elk around that upper left lake.

ElkUnlike much of the Rocky Mountain west, the elk in the Many Glacier area are like ghosts. I've had guests ask me at the hotel whether or not we even had any elk in the park. Hard to imagine that question being asked in Yellowstone, Rocky Mountain, or even Grand Canyon.

Re: ElkWe got into a small herd in the Nyack area a few years ago. I have also seen them near Apgar as well as numerous times between Running Rabbit and Dancing Lady Mountain. Yes they are hard to find at times.
