Alpendohle

Alpendohle
An Alpendohle, or Alpine jackdaw I encountered while scrambling to the top of the La Tourente(~2400m). These are the same birds which are known by the name of "Goraks" in the Himalayas, where they are renowned for eating the remains of deceased climbers.

like a crow, but more like an Alpendohle (alpine jackdaw, Pyrrhocorax graculus). They are very cute when they come to be fed on the summits, but they will also in the Alps eat any dead bodies left for long (which of course is rarer in the Alps).

My apologies, you're probaply right. The Dutch word for it translated into English is Alpine crow, so I thought it would probaply be simmilar, but apparently it's not. My mistake, thanks for notifying me of it's real name, I'll change the name!
