Date Climbed: Aug 19, 2006

Dennis Poulin

Dean and I rode the tram up and then hiked over to American Fork Twin Peak. We bypassed most of the ridge line both coming and going.

Instead of going right at the ridgeline (where I had a nasty accident last year), Dennis and I went up to the black rock part of the ridge from a steep slope from Mineral Basin. We met 5 guys coming down who had traversed over from White Pine Lake as we ascended up the spine of East Twin. It was nice to get this one off of my back and I enjoyed the tremendous views from the West Twins summit. Awesome. My TR is HERE

Flew in from Atlanta and grabbed the tram up to Hidden Peak. The weather was troublesome for me (being a flatlander) but the sun shone when I hit both Twins. Was tempted by Red Stack but the weather and the fact that this was my "acclimatization day" sent me scree skiing down. Spooked PellucidWombat's goat at the very top of Pipeline Couloir. Nice day.

This was probably the best part of my trip along the Bullion Divide. I wasn't too tired and it felt great to stand on top of the world.

Date climbed: Sept 2002. Blizzard on top. Summitted Red Top Mtn. on the way. Saw two moose sitting next to a pond on the descent back into White Pine. Fun!

hiked it with the Boy Scouts for that day when you flash mirrors to other peaks (I forget the name). Came up the mining road above Silver Lake Res. and camped above 10,000 ft. Fun trip with awesome views.

A fun way up, If you have had sleep and food before you go. It is a fun 3rd class ridge before you get to the steep section to the summit.

Came up via Snowbird roads in Gad Valley. Avalanche control explosive debris can be found all over the boulders heading up to the WhitePine/GadValley ridge. I saw a helicopter ferry a stricken climber down from below Pfeifferhorn...I later heard a couple of boulders rolled on top of her on a hillside.

Summited along with madsjim. The ridge is fun, and in my opinion much more "knife-edge" than the Pfeifferhorn, though with less exposure. I doubt anybody else summitted that day.

I kind of cheated by taking the tram to Hidden Peak, but I just wanted a nice little hike and the ridge was great fun. I don't think the knife edge is as bad as some may say, at no point is there any real exposure to danger.

Biked to the top of the tram and ditched our bikes. Then took the ridgeline to the West. A bit gnarly in places. Descended via the shale slope then picked up the Road to Provo back to our bikes.

Hiked as part of the Bullion after hiking sugarloaf, baldy, and hidden. The ridge wore right through myself and my partner, as neither of us got a good nights sleep the night before.

Really fun snow climb - steeper and scarier than expected, but that's probably in part due to the fact that I was soloing. There were a few scary instances where I had to dodge rocks flying down the couloir as a &*#^ mountain goat was walking along the top! Descended via the Northeast Ridge and pondered trying out a smaller north ridge spur.

It was a great climb, and I was back down in time for lunch!

Began in American Fork Canyon at Silver Lake Flats. Passed through many switch-backs and through an ATV gate. More switch-backs, passed by a mine and old car wreck up to saddle east of Twin's south sister. Summited the south sister (unnamed peak) and on to the Twins. Clear conditions but remaining cornices on the northern (Little Cottonwood Canyon) side. Looked down at Snowbird and realized our hike could have been a lot shorter from that side. But we built character. Clear views of Pfeifferhorn and Lone to the west.

We peaked the American Fork twins (the West Twin, we ran out of day light and energy to do the other two peaks) at the end of our three-peak trip. We started from Silver Lake Flat in American Fork Canyon and hiked the trail to Silver Lake, then went up the west ridge of White Baldy, opposite Silver Glance route. We then followed the ridge from White Baldy to Red baldy and then peaked Red Stack and the West Twin. It was a long hike but worth the view and the effort.

Summited both peaks from the knife edge ridge west of Hidden Peak. We started at the campground in Albion Basin. A beautiful fall day hike! Did these 2 peaks again on June 25 '07 from the Snowbird parking lot thru Gad Valley and from the west ridge via Red Stack and down the knife edged ridge to the east. Always a great hike.

I usually climb AF Twin Peaks when I'm hiking the Bullion Divide along with several other peaks. I think the knife-edge ridge is fun. The approach from Albion Basin is scenic and usually where I start from.
