Amethyst Deceiver

Amethyst Deceiver

Laccaria amethystina can be found in temperate deciduous or mixed forests. This mushroom is common in the Low Beskid. Young Amethyst Deceivers have intense purple color which fades with age to light grey. They are edible and have a mild taste. However, they should not be collected by novice mushroom hunters since they bear a resemblance to the poisonous Mycena pura.
