Amphitheater Mountain, Index Peak, and Pilot Peak

Amphitheater Mountain, Index Peak, and Pilot Peak

Seen from Druid Peak. Amphitheater is within Yellowstone; the other two are in the North Absaroka Wilderness. Index and Pilot are both Class 5 peaks that are at least 5.6 (reports I have heard have Index as "looking" around "5.8ish"). Pilot is one of Greater Yellowstone's most striking peaks, and one of its most difficult and dangerous by standard route (5.6 with really treacherous rock and enormous exposure). Only the very upper reaches of Index are visible above the ridge running to the right (as seen here) from Amphitheater's summit. This picture has been cropped a bit and will look better in "Orig."
