Amphulapcha La North Side

Relaxing after descending the north side. When you look back you don't believe it is quite straightforward. The descent starts just to the right of the rocky tower (steep, usually rappel of two times 50m). Then you do a descending traverse on snow (or scree depending on conditions) under the rocky section until you reach the less steep terrain on the right (directions from viewers perspective). If you go with porters, you better have more rope. IIt is not easy with big packs and bad shoes. If someone falls, that's it ... October 2006.
