Andrews Glacier Approach

Andrews Glacier Approach

SPers Mountain Man Dan, Andy, and jfox approach Andrews Glacier, which is above and off to the right of the photo. The Sharkstooth is on the left, with two buttresses of Taylor Peak dominating the scene. On this day we were actually attempting a couloir on Otis Peak, which is further to the right. May 6, 2007

Fall 2014

I hiked up Andrews Glacier in late Fall 2014, conditions were glacial ice as described. Definitely needed crampons and ice axe- glissading the blue ice was not an option I wanted to try. Very windy at the top of the ridge- could hardly stand up. I'd love to ski the glacier in snow conditions as shown-- maybe next season.
