Animas River, CO

View of the Animas River from the Durango-Silverton RR This river offers great Class II-V whitewater and excellent fishing opportunities and the season on the Animas River is longer than that of most Colorado streams. Yet the water seemed somewhat low for rafting, kayaking etc. when we went through. I guess these activities are much better in the early melt when you just glide over the big obstacles.
