Another view of the marten we... | [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
Another view of the marten we saw above Mistake Lake on Fremont Peak's Southwest Buttress Route. August, 2005. (I know the marten is not directly related to the mountain, so I will gladly delete it if that is what most people feel is appropriate, but the other marten picture generated some interest so I thought I would at least temporarily post this one). Voted 10/10 | A marten is one of those animals you don't see too often so I love the shot! | | Posted Dec 9, 2005 10:18 am |

Voted 10/10 | It's good to know what kind of vicious animals you may encounter on the mountain, so that you may be properly armed. Very nice photo... National Geographic material. | | Posted Dec 14, 2005 8:48 am |

Hasn't voted | Yes, this marten was definitely checking us out at the same time we were checking it out. It kept popping up to look at us, then it would duck under a rock and pop up somewhere else, with this sequence repeating several times. | | Posted Apr 4, 2006 10:38 pm |

Voted 10/10 | Pine Martens move so fast! How did you ever get a photo of one, even with it being curious about you? I've only seen them running around after prey--usually a Pika--or briefly checking me out and then running away. | | Posted Nov 4, 2006 4:58 pm |

Hasn't voted | Thanks. We were in a boulder field when we ran into this marten, and for several mintutes we watched as the marten would appear and dissappear around the rocks. Fortuanatley, we were able to get a few pictures before the marten disappeared for good. | | Posted Nov 5, 2006 4:17 am |
