Why I fly the flag of Aragon...

Aragon is an old kingdom now part of Spain. It includes three provinces: Huesca, Teruel, and Zaragoza.

Although I'm not a Spanish citizen, I grew up in and have always considered myself a child of Aragon, especially since my mother's side of the family hails from there. (Gallur, to be specific.) Most of my family still lives in Spain, including my mother and my sister.

In my opinion--and I admit to be a bit biased--it is one of the noblest regions in Spain, populated with some of the noblest people on the planet.

To honor that part of my heritage, I take the flag of Aragon on every summit attempt that I make outside of Aragon, and I'm including these pictures here.

With any luck, I'll start a tradition of mountaineers flying the flag of Aragon on every peak, and they will be displayed here.
