If you are returning to the Coldwater parking area, consider following the outlet stream from Arrowhead. Return to the main Duck Pass Trail, and you will see a spur trail heading to the right (east). A short distance reveals a gorge that is a good photo op. Follow the fisherman's trail that follows the creek, which eventually enters the upper end of the mining camp remains, adjacent to the Coldwater parking lot. Wear sturdy shoes, and watch for occasional poison oak next to the trail when you reach the flat part of this detour. Many, many great creek photos along the way.
