Ascending the "Fadensteig" in...
Ascending the "Fadensteig" in winter can be dramatic for unexperienced people. E.g. in late winter 2003 a person fell to death in this route (during summer it is an easy cableroute (difficulty A)).

It seems you had to make the brand new footsteps ahead. And without rope! Uhh man! You better take care. Climbers often do much more risky acts than they should. and nobody knows which could be the last.
But of course I say this to myself too...

It looks worse than it is.
Actually there is only this short traverse (approx. 75 feet) and the exit to the plateau (approx. 300 feet) which needs special care in winter, and often crampons.
The rest is a hike.
But it's a great place.
