Voted 10/10 | I initially thought "shame about the sky" but the cloud is so similar in colour to the ice it really adds to the drama, as if you're engulfed in ice! | | Posted Sep 20, 2008 3:20 am |

Hasn't voted | Thanks much! The lighting was a little weird since the sun had just risen about 30 minutes earlier, but it made for an interesting result. | | Posted Sep 20, 2008 2:47 pm |
| merrill | Wow! | |
Voted 10/10 | It looks like it might be a bit windy there sometimes the way the snow is plastered to the sides.
Happy trails.

Hasn't voted | Thanks! It can get pretty windy there, but it's usually a lot worse above the Gates. Unfortunately, the Hogsback shifted over in 2007 and the Pearly Gates are now a much more technical climb and often require a second tool and ice screws. | | Posted Sep 22, 2008 12:06 am |

Voted 10/10 | Clad in blue ice, very reminiscent of "gates" in fact | | Posted Jan 1, 2011 3:20 pm |
