Hasn't voted | Thanks again albanberg - I'm proud of this pic as well! The weather I had up there on that day is what you would call every photographer's dream, but I think this one is truly the best one of my Hannover hut series.
Cheers,

Voted 10/10 | Really nice composition and color! Congratulations!
(To tell the truth, When I saw this photo at first, I give breathe a sigh of relief. Because it seems to be a rescue hut, sorry) | | Posted Jan 14, 2011 9:22 am |

Hasn't voted | Again many thanks, Kenzo!
When titling the photos I took of this building, I referred to it as a "chapel", but actually it's a small mausoleum, built in the 1930s, in honor of Prof. Johann Karl Moritz Arnold (1853-1929), who was the first to introduce tourism in the Carinthian Alps. The minor elevation on which this mausoleum and also the Hannover hut stand, was also named after him, thus the name "Arnoldshöhe". Possibly it's open in summer - I never took the time to check that out - but in winter, both the mausoleum and the Hannover hut are locked and bolted.
