Re: thanks Erico

Thanks ! This month I managed to go twice and my knowledge of Karkonosze has grown suddenly. I realized I didn't know much of it before.
I must say I love CZ Republic... I don't know why. Everything is zen, quiet, people are clean, not messy, not stressed either. Houses are nice, streets are clean. When I return from CZ to PL sometimes it feels like returning to Uzbekistan...
There are not many people to who I manage to explain this feeling, especially Poles who are very susceptible...

Re: thanks Erico

wow... I was wondering what Dorota things about this... well, thank you.
I still remember having similar feelings years back when I was crossing from the communist Czechoslovakia to Austria, and now there is no difference...

Re: thanks Erico

Well, Dorota is kind of special, she studied Czech phylology and feels also the same attraction to this country. But true, when I mention how mad the poles are driving and how rough in maneers they sometimes can be, she's kind of angry ! :) As for CZ/AT contrast, I did feel it when returning from Wien to Brno. When you reach Mikulov it stills feel "Austrian" but after the long portion of road look kind of dodgy for a while, with old broken adverts here and there... But once in Brno it looks fine again. Some parts of CZ look worse than others. Krkonosze looks very neat and clean, but the surroundings of Adrpasské Skaly, still a lot of work ahead to make everything look nice !

Re: Why have...

If you read the few lines, you would see it is on MBPost as 3 TR. But why not posting landscapes pictures here a bit ?

Re: Why have...

Is this a mountain bike site?

Re: Why have...

Diego, that's your opinion. But that's my choice. Just ignore it if it disturbs you. Thanks.

Nice Album!

Next to hiking, I can't think of a better way to enjoy the mountains than on a bicycle.

Thanks for posting.

Re: Nice Album!

Thanks ! Nice to see some people appreciate it. In some way I'm a bit off-topic, considering the presence of the brother site, but I posted landscapes there only (exception made for my face). I'm glad you like it.

Re: Nice Album!

I did a couple of long distance bicycle tours - nearly 30 years ago. These were my first trips to the mountains and the first opportunity for me to go hiking...so I guess I have a soft spot in my heart for bicycle touring.

I have submitted an album (North Shore of Lake Superior) and a TR (Blue Ridge Parkway) to SP, so you are not alone in submitting this type of info on SP. Bicycling submittals can make for good beta (IMHO) as they can point out areas that may be of interest to both hikers and climbers.

Re: Nice Album!

Thanks for the links. Yes, great trips ! Imho there shouldn't be a brother site like MBPost. People who only cycle do not take photos, those who post on MBPost are a bit the mountaineer kind, and thus biking is a bit something complementary, like what skiing or rockclimbing are to mountains in general. I think they should have implemented instead an "activity" feature in Summitpost instead.
