I was surprised at how far this avalanche traveled. Certainly opened my eyes regarding the power of avalanches. Sierra Nevada, California.

Hasn't voted | Pretty amazing. The photo was taken only HALF WAY down the avalanche track. YIKES! It looks like it broke off 100 feet up the dome but the avalanche traveled 1,000 feet. | | Posted Oct 30, 2009 4:22 pm |
